Art Fair

AMF visitors check out artists displays.

Both professional and emerging artists, as well as student artists, are invited to submit their artwork for display and sale at the Arts & Music Festival.

With thousands of visitors every year, the Arts & Music Festival is a tremendous opportunity to get artwork seen by the public.

Only original artwork and fine crafts are accepted. All mediums will be considered. Acceptance is based on artistic merit and available exhibition space.

Submission deadline: Sunday, April 30, 2017

There is no submission fee.

Submissions will be reviewed by a committee of jurors. Artists will be notified of their acceptance by Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Artists selected by the jurors must agree to the festival policies and procedures as stated in the Participation Agreement (below) and pay the participation fee (if applicable) by Monday, May 15, 2017.

$30 – CSUSB alumni, staff, and faculty (must provide Coyote ID#)
$20 – College student (must provide copy of school ID with payment)
FREE – CSUSB students (must provide Coyote ID#)
FREE – Non-profit organization

Dates to Remember:

April 30: Submission deadline

May 6: Notification of acceptance (via email)

May 15: Deadline for returning the participation agreement form (Festival Policies and Procedures) and paying the participation fee

May 19: Arts & Music Festival

 

On the submission form, applicants will be asked for their contact information and to upload four (4) images: three (3) images of artwork and one (1) image of the artwork on display. For each image, include the title, medium(s), dimensions, and sale price of the artwork. Images must be formatted as: jpeg, 72 ppi, and 1000 pixels on longest side. Name your image files with your last name, first name, and image number (Ex: Doe_Jane_1.jpg).

AMF ART FAIR PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT - Festival Policies and Procedures

The California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) Arts and Music Festival (AMF) is a selective arts and fine crafts fair. Participating artists’ displays will be visited throughout the fair by AMF staff to ensure that artists are complying with festival policies. The AMF staff reserves the right to refuse exhibition of work not consistent with the quality and cohesiveness of submitted images. Artists that do not comply with festival policies will not be eligible for a refund.

 

Display Spaces and Amenities:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Display spaces are 10’x10’ outdoor spaces located in front of the Visual Arts Center/RAFFMA. See a campus map. All artwork must be exhibited within the designated area. Artists will be provided with one folding table (30”x72”) and two folding chairs. Artists are responsible for providing their own means of displaying their work.

Forms, Fees, and Sales:

The AMF artist participation form and fee (if applicable) are due Monday, May 15, 2017.

CSUSB students are not required to pay an participation fee. The participation fee will be paid for by Associated Students Incorporated (ASI). If CSUSB students fail to show up on the day of the festival, their student accounts will be charged $40.

Artists keep 100% of sales. Buyers purchase directly from the artists. Artists set their own prices and handle their own transactions by accepting their preferred method(s) of payment. Artists are responsible for collecting and paying the applicable California Sales Tax.\

 

Parking, Check In, and Set Up:

Festival hours are from 4-9 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016. Artists must check in between 12-3 p.m. and show a valid I.D. The check-in table will be located in front of the CSUSB Visual Arts Center / Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA), next to Parking Lot M. Free parking is available for artists in Lot M. A golf cart truck will be available for loading and transporting artwork and display materials until 3 p.m.

 

Participation:

Artists shall not sell counterfeit and/or stolen merchandise; 2) Artists must have a written policy covering defective merchandise, returns, and exchanges; 3) All work must be original and be designed and executed by the accepted artist(s); 4) Reproductions must be clearly identified as such; 5) Artists displaying work produced in editions must disclose edition numbers to the AMF audience; 6) All work exhibited must be of the quality and type that is shown in submitted images.

 

Cancellation and No-Show Policy:

Cancellations must be made in written form and submitted by mail or e-mail. E-mails can be sent to the AMF Art Fair Coordinator at smaclean@csusb.edu. An AMF staff member will contact you via the phone number listed on your application to verify your cancellation. If your cancellation is made before May 5, 2016, 50% of your acceptance fee will be refunded.

Artists who cancel after May 15, 2017, and “no-shows” will NOT be eligible for a refund. Artists who have not checked-in and/or notified an AMF staff member by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the festival (Friday, May 13, 2016) will be considered a “no-show.” Submissions for “no-shows” will not be accepted the year following the “no-show.”

There will be no “rain date” and fees will not be refunded in the case of inclement weather.

Security and Liability:

Artists shall not violate state or federal laws, or policies of California State University, San Bernardino.

Artists may be held financially responsible for any loss to or damage of university property.

California State University, San Bernardino and the Arts and Music Festival committee are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged artwork or other materials.

Artists shall indemnify and hold harmless the California State University, San Bernardino, the Trustees of California State University, the State of California and all other departments, boards, commissions and its officers, employees, volunteers, representatives and agents from any and all losses and cost of damages of any kind in connection with the operation of the artist/vendor, and from any and all claims and losses accruing or resulting to any person, firm, or corporation, who may be injured or damaged by the use of equipment or materials at said event, or by actions of the artist/vendor organization, its agents, servants or employees.
